Our Story

HOMELAB was founded in 2021 with a single, clear vision: to create pillows that actually work for the way real people sleep. Our founders — a group of engineers, sleep researchers, and everyday sleep-deprived individuals — were tired of settling for pillows that were either too firm, too flat, too hot, or simply not designed with their personal sleep style in mind.

The breakthrough came when we asked a deceptively simple question: What if a pillow could be everything to everyone? Not through compromise, but through genuine customization. The answer was our signature adjustable fill system — a design that allows every sleeper to add or remove shredded memory foam to find their perfect loft, firmness, and support level.

We spent eighteen months testing different foam densities, fabric technologies, and ergonomic profiles before launching our first product. The shredded visco polyurethane foam blend we settled on provides slow-rebound conforming support that adapts to your unique head and neck shape, while our dual-sided covers give hot sleepers a cooling viscose rayon surface and everyone else an ultra-soft microfiber alternative.

Our second major innovation came from listening to our customers. Many of them reported waking up warm and uncomfortable, especially during warmer months or for those dealing with night sweats. This feedback led us to develop the BlueCool™ pillowcase line — featuring proprietary cooling fibers with a Q-Max value above 0.4, which measures a fabric's ability to conduct heat away from skin on contact. The result is a genuinely cooling sleep surface that doesn't just feel cool at first touch, but maintains a lower temperature throughout the night.

The body pillow was a natural extension of our mission. Side sleepers — who represent a significant portion of the adult population — need support not just at the head and neck, but along the entire spine. Our 20×54" body pillow with bamboo viscose cover was designed to provide that full-body alignment, while remaining adjustable so every individual can customize it to their needs.
